Collaborative painting

As a way of having a visual conversation, Craig and Shoshanah got to know each other, in part, by doing several collaborative paintings. The rules were simple: with no shared plan, one began and after a few minutes turned the brush over to the other. It was understood that neither would obliterate any existing strokes. Instead, they could each add to, decorate, play against, or elaborate what had been done. They would not talk about the work during the 20 or so turns. They could be playful, even imitating the style of the other. As a result, it is almost pointless to guess who did what. The point was to have a good time.
